The Fire Service Wins In the End

Tony Klinger - Tuesday 07.10.08, 09:14am

This is just a quick note to those of you, like me, almost exhausted by the never ending torrent of awful economic news. In the end it’s the good guys who put out the fire, not the fire which wins. Yes, we might well lose some structure, and yes, there will be casualties, but in the end the fire will be extinguished. There will be an end to this, as distant as it presently seems, and as dark as the tunnel we are now in might seem.

The same goes for the blood spattered terrorists, and the despots and all the crazy politically correct idiots who seem to be presently running the world. They will, one day, be gone. Obliterated to an historical footnote like human garbage always is, in the end. Remember the 1,000 year Reich of Hitler’s Nazi Germany, or the world revolution that was the Soviet Empire? All gone, blown away by the forces for good and freedom.

Yes, clearly our market economy system makes mistakes, sometimes huge mistakes, but it is a better system than anything else mankind has ever devised. It will self correct, there will be more problems, but we will pull through all of this and come out the other side, stronger, wiser and yes, even richer in the long term. Maybe not richer in terms of how many holidays we take, or cars we drive, but richer nevertheless, in the knowledge we have of ourselves, and what is important to us.

Always remember, the fire will be put out; we have to keep calm, not panic, and remember there will be more tomorrows.
