For those of you who don’t understand Yiddish, a schlep is defined as to pull along heavily, like this, the one legged man schlepped the huge case up and down three sets of stairs. You get the picture?
Yesterday I schlepped myself, a heavy enough weight you might say, for a 6 miles hike across country with a group of family. Some of these people have some serious Scouting histories and walking sticks, and funny hats, all of which are to their advantage. They even understand that you need specials shoes to keep your feet dry. All of which knowledge has passed me by. As a result I have feet that are wet , and shall remain so for the foreseeable future. I also got very hot, which is an unnatural state for an English person in the Autumn months. Who thought it would be warm near to October? I tell you the whole thing is surreal.
I shall not go into detail about the walk, which I shall cover when I recover, but right now I just want you to know that all my keep fit activities for the last few years have probably meant I survived yesterday’s walk sufficiently well that I have the energy to tell you I don’t have the energy to properly compose my blog!
